I'm Jose.
I sing in Divided By Friday.
Finally got my Nimbus 2000 back! Took 8 months to turn this Gibson Les Paul into something magical ;)
As a few of you may know, I grew up listening to Gospel and R&B music and I’ve always wanted to record some music in that style. Here is the only song I’ve ever done, in that realm. If you’ve ever heard the Divided By Friday song, “Disappoint: Surprise,” this is what it started out as! It was never mixed or mastered, but nonetheless, enjoy!
The Ghost Sleeps: For You- Eeky and the Elevator
I couldn’t sleep one night in college, a few years ago, so I did this haha. It’s a song called “The Way I Am,” originally by Ingrid Michaelson.
It’s been a long time coming!

PropertyOfZack Road Blog : : Divided By Friday (Update II)
Jose Villanueva:
Jose, from Divided By Friday, here and I just thought I’d offer you all a little update on the tour we’re doing right now with Set It Off. We’re at the start of our third week now and things are starting to wind down. This tour has flown by faster than any of us were prepared for! Turnouts have been far better than we were expecting and all the people we’ve met have been so receptive to the music from both bands. It’s nice to see kids coming out to rock shows and having a good time. With all the changes that have taken place in the music scene over the past few years, it’s nice to see that there are still people out there who care about real people, playing real music that they have a real passion for.
We’ve been in the North East/Mid-West the past couple weeks and I don’t think any of us were prepared for the vast difference in climate, from our homes, for some reason. We’ve all been freezing and giving each other colds, and at the same time trying to offer each other advice on how to get better quicker. The shows have been fun, but we’re all definitely looking forward to getting back to that Southern sunshine, in the next few days!
From day one, we knew we would get along with Set It Off just fine, but it’s gotten to the point now that we are literally inseparable. You will not catch Divided By Friday anywhere with out Set It off, and vice versa. We’ve done a lot of touring over the past year and a half, and have gotten close to a lot of the bands that we’ve gone out with, but these guys have quickly become our brothers. It’s almost creepy how much we have in common with everyone. The two of us can’t go anywhere without erupting into a sudden burst of song or dance. We get a lot of weird looks, but it’s all in good fun!
