Here’s to a new chapter

Today, we pretty much finished tracking everything for our new CD. There is literally no way I could ever express how proud I am of these songs, or how much they mean to me. I’ve never felt as attached to anything we’ve ever done, as I do to these new ones. Each song represents who we are and where we came from. You get to hear the Jose that grew up singing gospel songs and listening to Kirk Franklin with his family, when we all lived together, because we couldn’t afford to live on our own. You get to hear the vocal style that made me want to be a singer in the first place. You get to hear emotion, behind the words, like I’ve never been able to portray, before. You get to hear real violins, cellos and viola’s play the string parts we’ve had stuck in our heads for months. And not only do you get to hear a real choir, but you get to hear one made up of me and my cousins, singing together again, the same way we did when we were 5 and 7 years old. These songs really are pieces of our lives, put on display. Yes, they are different, but they are who we are, in our most natural state. I can’t wait to share them with you all. I hope they bring you half the joy that being able to create them has brought me.
